Why Dermalogica???

Choosing a skin care range is usually one of the trickiest tasks of a new clinic opening up… there are SO many on the market these days, all claiming to be the best thing since sliced bread. (its not just clients who struggle with the flooded market of choice) I have used many different ranges in my relatively short life but none have surpassed Dermalogica on any level whatsoever!! So why do I love Dermalogica so much? Let me tell you.

I have been using Dermalogica in my business for the last 5 years aka since I opened. Needless to say I love it!! I love everything they stand for, I love their approach to skin health, I love their ethos around sustainability, I love that they do not test on animals, I love their dedication to education and to research so I am confident that I am providing my clients with the best possible product on the market. I love their customer service, I love how innovative they are, I love that they help women become entrepreneurs through their program FITE, oh and I really love their products!!! 

​Dermalogica was created by Jane Wurwand in 1986 when the beauty industry was focused on fancy packaging, fragrance and pretty colours (ekk, id hate to think what was in those products). Jane saw a need for a skin care range that actually helped the skin rather than hindered it. Jane had Started the International Dermal Institute a few years prior, which is now considered the international gold-standard for postgraduate skin and body therapy training with 37 locations worldwide. Yay for Jane!! But its no good having brilliant therapists without a brilliant product to work with so lo and behold Dermalogica was birthed. 

Anyone who knows me or has heard of me probably knows how animal mad I am.. I have heard the crazy dog lady thrown around on more then one occasion! So needless to say one of Dermalogica’s biggest bonuses for me is their dedication to obtaining and maintaining the leaping bunny and PETA stamp of approval. They no longer sell to China who required by law cosmetics be tested on animals to be sold in the country… Cumon China, get with the times!!! They not only DONT test on animals but they also do not use any animal derived ingredients either so they are great for vegans. On top of all that they also have been recognised by the RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil) for sourcing palm oil in a manner that does not negatively impact local wildlife. Yay Dermalogica!! 

Because Dermalogica is affiliated with the International Dermal Institute they are constantly updating their formulations and coming out with new products, innovative technologies and delivery systems that defiantly keep me on my toes learning all the new juicy information and products they have available. I have recently been doing all their workshops to get on top of all the new ‘stuff’ they have released and also to refresh my memory on the tried and true favourites of Dermalogica. Its amazing how much you can learn after using something for so long #mindboggling

Dermalogica are dedicated to empowering women all over the world to become educated and start their own businesses through their program; FITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship). In an industry that employs the highest rate of women and also has the highest rate of women business owners and entrepreneurs it is magical to see and also be part of the movement that helps women build up other women. It's definitely an exciting time to be a lady and I cant wait for the day we all take over the world together! Trust me its happening!!! 

While these are all noble and amazing reasons to love a product, I also want to point out that they bloody work!! I have not come across another range that gets results so effortlessly and feel amazing doing it. Speaking from personal experience, I have suffered with terrible adult acne as life gets more stressful as we get older. If it wasn’t for Dermalogica I would hate to think what my skin would be like now. I still get the odd breakout but hey I am human and female to boot! Thanks to Dermalogica’s whole body approach I now know why I breakout and what to do when it happens and my skin has never been better!! Apart from when I was a baby… Thanks Dermalogica!!!
